The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) describes Cyber Essentials as the minimum baseline of technical cyber security controls for organisations of all sizes in the UK.
With 98.8% protection against common cyberattacks it is a fantastic standard and one that most large organisations and some medium sized businesses will have done most of the groundwork for before they begin.
For many small businesses however, the challenge is far greater. Many do not have in-house technical support let alone a cyber security expert. Understanding the requirements of the standard can be the first hurdle that they need to leap.
